FAQ

Before you book

Are the classes for everyone?

Yes. The job is to make you feel successful while nudging you past your comfort zone, and you are the one who decides where that line is. Listen to your body. If something does not feel right, do not do it. Take a break when you need one.

If you are starting something new, it is worth checking with a medical professional first.

Are there age or height limits?

The minimum age is 13, and you need to be at least 4 feet 11 inches tall to ride safely.

Under 18s need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver in person. Parents, one thing worth knowing: music in class can contain profanity. Talk to the front desk and we will point you toward the instructor who suits your kid best.

Do I have to reserve a spot, or can I walk in?

Reserve. It guarantees you a place and lets you pick a bike or a spot on the floor you are comfortable with.

We do take walk-ins, but we cannot promise there will be room.

When does the schedule open?

Every Sunday at 4:00pm, the following Tuesday through Monday goes live. That is when the newest classes go on sale, whoever you are. How far ahead you can book is what changes: on a class pack or a single class you are booking inside that week, recurring members can book 14 days out, and Priority Access members get 30. Popular classes go quickly, so set an alarm if there is a specific bike or instructor you want.

Your first class

I am new. Will someone help me out?

Yes, and this is the part we would rather you not skip. Arrive fifteen minutes before your first class. That gives us time to check you in, walk you around, and get you properly set up on a bike or a mat.

The First Timers page walks through the whole thing.

How do I book with my two free classes?

Create an account here on the site or in the GRIND app, then pick a class and book. Your two free credits are already on your account, and they work on any format at either studio.

What do I need to bring?

Very little. Cycle shoes are provided and clip into the bike. If you own a pair, we support SPD and Look Delta cleats. Street shoes are not allowed on the bikes, which is a safety rule rather than a preference.

Towels are provided. Water is available to buy, and both studios have refill stations if you bring a bottle. For Restore, bring a mat or borrow one of ours.

On the day

What if I am running late?

We hold your spot until two minutes before class. At that point it goes to the waitlist, so call the studio if you are close.

For cycle, we will walk you in after the first song. Nobody enters once the second song has started. Partly safety in a dark room, partly not breaking the ride for everyone already in it.

Where do I park, and how do I get in?

Different at each studio, so it is worth checking before you set off.

North Loop: street parking or Ramp C. If you use Ramp C, come in through the back door of the T3 building. City metered street parking is free before 8:00am and on holidays. Worth knowing: the privately operated meters directly in front of T3 are not City of Minneapolis meters, and enforcement on them is strict. We would park elsewhere.

Edina: free parking in the City of Edina Parking Garage on Market Street. Head out onto Market Street and walk west toward the post office. We are directly on Market Street.

What amenities are there?

Showers, lockers, towels, water refill stations and somewhere comfortable to sit at both studios. The specifics differ.

North Loop: three studios, one per format, and the Restore room is heated. Three showers, one shared gender-neutral locker room with more than 60 lockers, cubbies in each studio and the lobby, and 24-hour building security. Full details on the North Loop page.

Edina: two studios, a cycle room and a strength and restore room. Two showers, plenty of lockers with locks already on them in a gender-neutral area, two bathrooms and a separate changing room, and a front lobby with a couch and a few coffee table books. Full details on the Edina page.

Where can I change?

The locker areas are gender neutral at both studios. If you would rather have a door, North Loop has restrooms and showers with room to change, and Edina has two bathrooms plus a dedicated changing room.

Changes and cancellations

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel 12 or more hours before class and the credit returns to your account with no penalty.

Cancel inside 12 hours and you lose the credit if you are on a class pack, or pay a $12 late cancellation fee if you are a member.

What happens if I do not show up?

A no-show costs you the credit plus a $12 fee. If something goes wrong on the way, call the studio rather than letting the class start without you.

STILL STUCK?

Email us at hello@thegrindmpls.com, or call the studio you are headed to. North Loop is (612) 466-1376 and Edina is (612) 919-7273.
